Seriously This Time January 18, 2007

In this age of myspace mayhem and technological tomfoolery, (witty!) I tend to write more bulletins and private messages than relevant blogs about important matters.  Truly… I am a reflection of our world today.  How sad.

But no longer!  No longer shall I simply clap two coconuts together as though I had a real horse(blog)!  I shall work on a noble steed of internet intrigue.

3-D Game Art and Interactive Art!  Perhaps my last semester of both, though certainly not my last work in those fields.  I simply want to set that benchmark and make this my best semester of them all.

I also plan on getting in a gallery.  Yeah, that’s right.  Monsieur Toussaint in a gallery.

Be prepared in such manner.  Strap yourself in, and enjoy the flight.

Thank you for flying with me this semester.

Interactive Love Making! March 21, 2006

hm. Just sounded like a more exciting title than: Working Through the Difficulties.  You agree, right?

I am really getting into Interactive Art now!  I love electronics, and for some reason, working on electronics gives me a warm feeling inside.  More so than petting kitties or hugging babies.  Yeah, that’s right.

I finally found a motion sensor that might just work!  Shocking considering how lacking the availability of good sensors are.  Also, a workable keyboard microcontroller!  After two failed attempts, I’m on lucky number 3, and it looks hopeful.  Means I’m behind, of course, but at the moment, I am extremely hopeful and won’t let reality crush those hopes.  You won’t crush them either, right? Anyway, it is good.  The Flash side of it is going well, and now all I need to do is get this motion sensor and microcontroller hooked up somehow…  which will happen.  Not to mention the sound control that may need to just run off the computer system through an audio input.  I do believe I may be able to have Flash interpret sound input into intensities of paint size through their decible level.  We’ll see.  The motion sensor is looking good, though; so… *thumbs up*

That’s the word on the street.  Enjoy!  Keep on smiling and making the world feel a little bit less sad.

A New Beginning! Again! March 21, 2006

Welcome my adoring fans!  That, or a very interested professor!  Both quite equally greeted.

First off, I had plans to update today with an awesome picture of my first spaceship model blasting my partner’s equally impressive ship… but EagleMail kicks puppies and hates Italian people.  Hey, it’s true.

I sent three e-mails to myself so that I would be certain to have it at home to post up, but as I just figured out tonight, EagleMail was marking all of my e-mails to myself as Spam and just deleting it!  How outrageous is that?  I ask you, how outrageous?  … No, seriously, how outrageous is that… I can’t really decide.

Thus, in the future, many backups shall be made and my e-mails won’t be blocked anymore.  Hurrah!  Viva la Revolutione!

As for an update on my progress that is less visually impressive…  we are doing quite well!  I love these programmers.  They are really cooking with the gas on high.  Last Tuesday, we provided them with our latest models(thank goodness for an actually working export plugin!  I offer a burnt offering for that one.), and they are fast at work!  I can’t wait to hear what they are up to next.

My partner, Jennifer, is working famously.  She has really dived right into it with all the right equipment.  Enthusiasm, effort, and skill.  Mad style. I can’t thank her enough already for her effort.  I only hope I can be half as motivated or hard-working.  Now, I’m sure she wouldn’t agree with such praise, but it’s true!  So, take it as you will. (aka. agree with my praise)

Thus, despite some early technical difficulties, things are going better than I expected.  Hopefully that trend can continue.  It will!  I bet it will.  So… bet on us!  $10 on the 3-2 favorite.

Today is the beginning.  Today is when it truly starts.  We roll tonight… to the guitar bite… and for those about to rock… I salute you.

I hope that isn’t too overly dramatic; I am going to work to keep this blog strictly professional.  Or as close as I humanly can.  Or not at all.  But it shall remain informative, that’s for certain.

 May God bless!
